Surge tanks Eliminates fuel starvation on the high G corners. Advantages below of using this external fuel pump systems over standard fuel pump set-up. Save in additional cost of fittings (because of interconnected tank and pump design) and fuel pressure connection. Much less potential for fuel leaks. Much more compact than conventional.
