Yamaha XT500 TT500 Aluminium Touring Tank Dakar. (Honda XL, XR, Suzuki DR)
It may also fit other makes and models, Yamaha XT550, Honda XR, XL, Suzuki DR, air cooled trail and enduro motorcycles. The tank is aluminium and holds approximately 20+ Liters of petrol. It has a Monza quick release type filler cap, no need for a key it just pops open.
It uses the standard XT500 fuel tap, though this is not included. The tank is from the 1970's or 1980's, a genuine period part, even the paint looks it could be genuine 70's 80's.
Being 30 or 40 years old it does have some scratches and small dents, nothing too serious, shows that it has been used for what it was intended for. All threads are good and front mounting brackets are straight and solid. The rear mounting will need some attention as this is missing. Other than that there are no cracks or leaks.Ideal for touring on your XT500 or for making a'rally replica'. These tanks don't come up for sale too often, rather rare items.
